Frequently Asked Questions About Our Egg Donors
Questions About the Donor Database
When can I choose a donor?
As soon as the contract has been signed, your payment has been registered, and we have received the result of the genetic analysis. We will then update your user status so that you can make a binding donor selection.
What does the favourites list mean?
The favourites list is your personal overview of the donors you like. Adding a donor to your favourites does not mean that you have made a final donor selection.
Is my donor selection binding?
Yes. Once you have selected a donor, your choice is binding. If you are allocated a donation from that donor, we will therefore not contact you again to confirm your choice.
When will I know if I have been allocated a donation?
Once you have selected a donor, it may take up to 14 days for the eggs to be donated and for us to notify the recipient who has been allocated the donation.
If you have not heard from us within 14 days, the donation has been allocated to someone else.
Can I choose more than one donor?
Yes. We recommend selecting all the donors you would be happy to receive eggs from. We also recommend checking the website and selecting relevant donors around twice a week when the database is updated. This increases your chances of being allocated a donation sooner.
How quickly can I receive a donation?
This depends, among other things, on how many donors you select and how often you register your interest in newly available donors. The more suitable donors you select, the greater your chances of being allocated a donation quickly.
Donations are allocated partly according to waiting time. If no other patients have selected a particular donor, you may in some cases be allocated the donation quickly and without a waiting period.
How long is the waiting time?
This largely depends on your preferences and donor selection. If you select a donor whose eggs have already been frozen and are available, you may in some cases receive a donation without a waiting period.
Having many specific criteria or preferences for your donor may increase the waiting time.
Why am I unable to choose a donor?
This is because you have not yet been approved for the matching process. You will be able to select donors once we have received your signed contract, registered your payment, and received the result of the genetic analysis.
How often do new donors become available?
New available donors are added twice a week. You will be notified by email on Mondays and Thursdays, after which you can register your interest in any available donors who are suitable for you.
We cannot guarantee that a particular donor will donate again, nor can we tell you when a donor may become available again. It is always the donor herself who decides whether and when she would like to donate again.
